The Perfect Toddler Travel Companion {@JoovyOO Foocot Review}

Since we purchased our first set of Disneyland Annual Passes years back, we’ve been increasing our stays in hotels up on Anaheim every year. Adding kids to the mix just makes us a bit too tired to either wake up early and drive the 1.5 hours or stay till closing and drive home.

We’ve remedied this by mastering the art of fanagling an online deal for a hotel that usually ends up costing us $50-75 a night. Suffice it to say, we stay at hotels at least 6 times a year with the kids. And sometimes a set of doubles or a king bed just isn’t enough.

So when we saw the Joovy Foocot Child Cot we knew we had our solution for beds for the kids during our hotel stays.

The Joovy Foocot is a very durable and easy to use child’s cot that sets up and breaks down with little trouble at all. It even comes with it’s own fitted sheet and carrying case!

It supports a child up to 48 inches tall or 75 pounds and is made of a sturdy steel frame with top grade 600D nylon fabric.

When you’re done with the Foocot you simply fold it up and put it in the carrying case. When folded, it’s small enough to store in your trunk, in closets, or even under beds! The compact size of the folded Foocot will take little to no room at all with all of your other travel gear.

We recently stayed out on the town for the night in celebration of our 5 year wedding anniversary. And since my daughter is still a bit too young to leave alone, we had her join us after enjoying dinner together.

Having the option of letting her sleep in the foocot made her feel as if she had her own toddler bed similar to the one we have at home. And since it fit nicely on the side of our bed, if she needed us at all during the night she’d just climb up and join us.

This cot is not only great for travel but will be the perfect solution to sleep overs in the near future!

My son is already talking about having his cousin over for the night and since he’s allergic to dogs we want to make sure we have a safe, dog free place for him to sleep (rather than right on the floor where there may be traces of dog hair even after we vacuum). The foocot is the perfect, simple solution to our problem!

And I’m sure we’ll soon be purchasing the accompanying Foocot Quilted Mattress Pad to make longer trips more enjoyable for the kids. While the Foocot is not meant to provide a permanent place to stay, trips over a few nights might be a bit more comfy when using the Mattress Pad instead of just the Fitted Sheet.

If you’re traveling anywhere this summer with little ones and are looking for a great solution to the roll out couch or sleeping bag on the floor, then I highly recommend checking out the Joovy Foocot Child Cot.

Versatile, durable, and very fun to use!

  1. Yes, Darcy! My girlfriend has one and is using it as a nap cot downstairs while she works (so she doesn’t have to go upstairs to check on her son as he naps).

It fits nicely on the side of the bed and is a lot better than a mattress on the floor.

  2. Definitely a good thing to have if you travel and stay in hotels a lot. Most charge a fee for a cot and this looks like it would be more comfy in general.

  3. @Darcy This is exactly what I was thinking! Our son is getting too big to share our bed, but he’s not ready for his own bed. This would be a great solution for him to sleep on it at night and hide away during the day!

  4. Ok, the Foocot could totally come in handy for when the various grandkids go to visit my mom. I will have to tell her about this.

  5. What a neat idea! We travel with our kids a lot and this would really help. Thanks!

  6. This is awesome! If I ever decide to open my own in-home daycare, I will be stocking up on these! They are better than the typical nap cots for preschools because they actually fold up for storage! Awesome!

  7. Hmm I wonder if this would be useful for transitioing my daughter to her own bed since the cot could be in our room.

  8. Jeannette says:

Oh my goodness! We so need that! The more kids there are in the family, the less room we have when we travel and all the kids hate sharing beds! This would be the perfect solution!

  9. Kathleen (aka Callista) says:

That’s very neat. It looks like a short, double wide camp chair actually. I don’t do much traveling but I could see it coming in handy.

  10. Now that is a cool idea! I have never heard of this before and we travel a lot. I want one! I’ll have to put this on our list to check out.

  11. Unknown Mami says:

This would be great for when we go visit my mother. Love that it folds up and has its own case.

  12. Jess Toothman says:

This looks great. We travel and camp a good bit, and I know my son would have a much easier time going to bed if he always had his own little bed to take with us!

  13. Sarah Lynne says:

Now I can’t wait for mine to come in!!! We travel a lot, and the boys don’t mind sharing a bed right now, but I know the fights could start at anytime!!!

  14. royalegacy says:

I wish I could’ve had something like this when my kids were young. This would have been perfect for us.

I love this! It seems so sturdy, and it would be great when we travel! Since our LO is pretty much at the weight limit of her pack and play, we really need to upgrade, and this seems like a great option!
