I’m preserving my first car for my son and keeping it running great using Gumout All-In-One® Complete Fuel System Cleaner products from Walmart, as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #WalmartAuto
My first car was my step-dad’s truck. I worked full time all summer and saved up the money to purchase it outright and was definitely excited to finally be behind the wheel of my own car.
And I still have that car. And it still runs. So I’ve been thinking about the future of my first car and I honestly think that we can keep it up and running until my son needs his first car.
Luckily I have a pretty handy husband. And with the combination of good car care (including everything I need at Walmart Auto) and a handy husband who can find just about any part needed, I think I can make this thought a reality.
Now you may be thinking that I’m off my rocker but it could totally happen. It’s a generic truck and parts are pretty easy to find, we make sure to keep up on regular maintenance (that we can teach him before he can drive), and we use Gumout All-In-One® Complete Fuel System Cleaner to help keep the insides looking as great as the outsides.
This stuff is pretty awesome! It cleans direct and indirect fuel injectors, intake valves and ports, piston tops, cylinder heads, and the combustion chamber. Not that I know what half of that stuff is but the husband tells me it’s all pretty important.
And with all of the bonuses this little bottle brings, it’s very cost effective. Using it ever 3000 miles can help prevent future carbon build-up and will help condition fuel to fight ethanol and water corrosion in the upper cylinder to reduce friction and wear.
Even if you aren’t planning on passing your car onto your child, consider giving a little more life to your vehicle with Gumout All-In-One Fuel System Cleaner. It’s the perfect way to perk up your car before a long road trip or excessive use!
My son may just be 5 but 16 is right around the corner. With the help of some care, maintenance, and a little learning mixed in while we teach him the ins and outs of this truck, he could be creating a great relationship with his future first car.
What was your first car?
I don’t add a lot to my gases anymore. New advances in engines don’t like additives.
I bought a Ford Escort from a friend’s parents – for $300. I drove that sucker for nearly 2 years, and sold it for $300 – and the only money I put into it was a new battery! I kind of wish I would of kept it, and went a few more years without a car payment!
My very first car that I drove was a Mercury Tracer. It was a hatchback style and we called it the beetle. It was black and ugly but it was amazing on gas (like 45 miles to the gallon!) and drove really smooth. I replaced it with a Taurus and wanted the Tracer back immediately! Your son is adorable and looks like he is ready to take it for a spin!
