Medicine Cabinet Must-Haves

This post and giveaway are brought to you by Mentholatum® Nighttime Vaporizing Rub

What’s in your medicine cabinet? Most people stock commonly used items right up front: thermometer, lotions, bandages and ibuprofen. And, toward the back you may find a jar of chest rub that’s been around for years. Now there’s a reason to give chest rub a spot in the front row.

The Mentholatum Company talked to consumers to find out exactly why chest rub wasn’t a go-to cold relief product. Dissatisfaction with the fragrance was a major complaint. Users wanted a product that would bring relief for coughing and chest and muscle aches, but with the added benefit of a pleasant smell. New Mentholatum® Nighttime Vaporizing Rub was formulated with the soothing scent of lavender to address these concerns.

People have been claiming the therapeutic benefits of lavender for thousands of years, and herbalists value it for its calming and soothing properties. Its name comes from the Latin word lavare, meaning “to wash,” but its uses go far beyond the act of cleaning. Today you’ll find lavender as an ingredient or fragrance in many popular products.

Eggplant French Bread Pizza

One thing I love about lunchtime on the weekend is the fact that I get to eat lunch with the kids and my husband and sit down together during the day – something that doesn’t happen often.  The family table we’ve created at dinnertime has helped us connect more as a family and truly enjoy each meals together but enjoying lunch together is like an added bonus.

Unlike dinners, lunches are usually sporadic last minute plans that just happen to come together. And that means I need a great arsenal of easy lunch ideas – like this delicious eggplant french bread pizza – ready to use when I don’t have a clue what I want to make.

Another great tool I have at the ready is a pantry full of Barilla® sauces and a garden full of veggies. For those times that I just need something the whole family will enjoy and eat but is still  nutritious, I grab my favorite Tomato & Basil sauce and start creating. You’ll taste the difference because Barilla Sauce has a real taste from real vegetables and all-natural, quality ingredients like vine-ripe tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and fragrant herbs.

Paired with a great salad, this pizza is the perfect weekend lunch. And the whole family will eat it! [Read more…]

Enjoy a Little Pampering with Spa Week San Diego at Bella D’ora Spa

Enjoy a Little Pampering with Spa Week San Diego

Two weeks ago I turned the big 3-0. In celebration of this milestone birthday I decided to make a little time for myself and get pampered. So when I was asked by Spa Week to check out a great spa in town and receive a complimentary service in celebration of Spa Week San Diego and their kick off I replied back with a big yes with no hesitation.

I’m one who truly believes in pampering yourself. As a work at home mom I find myself constantly making time for my family and my job but recently I’ve started to make a conscious effort to make more time for myself. Including a little pampering.

And Bella D’ora Spa was just that. Pampering at it’s finest! Located in Carlsbad, North County moms will find a place to escape to when they enter Bella D’ora Spa.  [Read more…]

How to Keep a Clean Car with Kids

This post brought to you by PERK. All opinions are 100% mine.

Once you have kids, the state of the interior of your car pretty much implodes. From toys to crackers (smushed for added texture) to clothes and diapers, our cars become mobile homes filled with everything we need to care for our kids. So how do we keep a clean car with kids? It’s simple.

But you have to be willing to follow these steps and make sure you have a system in place to keep the mess at bay. If you’re like me… this may fall to the wayside with the craziness of life. But that’s ok, simply do a deep clean, start back at step one and get back in it!

The first thing we have to do is deep clean the car. Grab a laundry basket and a trash can. Put all of the toys, clothes, etc in the laundry basket to bring into the home and sort and throw out all of the waste in the trash can. Then run a vacuum over everything and wipe the surfaces down. Now you’re ready for maintenance!
