Girls Night In Appetizers Cheese Platter On A Stick

Friendships are very important to me. Making time for my girlfriends is something I need to do to keep my sanity and with three kids that can get difficult. Especially when one of them is 5 months old and isn’t too good at taking a bottle. So in order to get my girl time in I often have friends come over for girls night in instead of girls night out. Sure, girls night out is fun, but girls night in is just as fun and can save me a little money too.

I love being able to come up with creative ways to make girls night in interesting. From My Favorite Things parties, to pairing afternoon kid snacks with wine, to prepping some appetizers in advance and popping open a box of Black Box wine, there are tons of ideas on making girls night in enjoyable.

This time I paired my love of cheese platters with an on-the-go solution to enjoying them easily whether we’re at my house, or having a girls night in at one of the other ladies houses. All I have to do is pack them up and grab a box of wine and we have a portable girls night. Easy peasy.

I grabbed a few things we had in the fridge and pantry and paired them with some cheeses and meats I’d normally serve on a cheese platter. The classic combo of flavors found in a caprese salad, some melon and prosciutto with provalone, and my favorite pizza toppings. Each trio pairs perfectly with either a glass of cabernet sauvignon or chardonnay.

The Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

One of my favorite all time lunch (or dinner) option is a grilled cheese sandwich with a bowl of creamy tomato soup. My favorite menu item on Nordstrom Cafe’s menu is, of course, the grilled cheese & tomato soup and it’s my kids favorite too (the sandwich, not the soup).

So when I heard that national Grilled Cheese day was coming up this week I knew I had to share my favorite way to prepare grilled cheese at home. Yup… I’m sharing the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich recipe with you!

Now the components of a grilled cheese are simple, a spread on teh outer layers of bread to brown, some yummy cheese and a pair of bread slices to hold the cheese in.

You can change up the type of cheese and type of bread to reflect what you love the most but I always go with at least one cheese that’ll melt well. And I usually use two different types of cheese.

Cheesy Potato Sausage Cups {Appetizer & Sides Recipe}

Cheesy Sausage and Potato Cups recipe

I’ve tried to brainstorm what I’ll be bringing with me to Thanksgiving dinner for about a week now. And I have a few ideas for what I want to make. But I’m not 100% sure.

So I’ve put a few of the recipes to the test before the big day and will be blogging about the ones that turn out tasty!

These cheesy potato sausage cups are jam packed with flavor in every bite. And I love how easy they were to throw together.

Like my kitchen sink egg cups, these potato sausage cups are made up of things I found in my fridge and freezer. And they only took about 30 minutes to make.

The best part is they taste amazingly good the second time around. So I could make them the morning of, bring them over to my brother-in-law’s house and simply re-heat them before dinner! They’d make the perfect side or appetizer dish.
