Crochet Instagram Phone Cover Pattern

crochet instagram phone cover pattern

This weekend I found myself with a bit of me time. It isn’t to often this opportunity arises so I took full advantage and made something for me. This adorable crochet Instagram phone cover for my new Concord phone.

I had seen images of this phone cover before but could never find a pattern so I simply grabbed my hook, gathered up what remnants and skeins I had in my collection, grabbed my phone and started playing around.

I have to say that I’m quite happy with what I ended up with! You can find the pattern available for download in PDF form here. A little relaxing crochet time left me feeling fabulous and ready to create more! [Read more…]

Big Game Party Ideas: Creating the Perfect Football Party

big game party ideas

Last weekend I hosted an awesome playoff party for family and friends in celebration of getting our new, amazingly awesome big screen from Best Buy the week before. We wanted to celebrate the playoffs while talking about our new electronic devices with family and friends.

With the geek squad setting up everything for us, the only thing left for my husband to do was mount the screen to the wall. And invite his friends and family over so we could celebrate! The rest was left up to me. And I was up for the challenge!

I love hosting parties and celebrating just about any occasion. So this party was a blast to plan and put together. We used a few things we already had from past years celebrations and mixed them in with some new editions. [Read more…]

DIY Football Pennant Banner

Last weekend we hosted a playoffs party for our family and friends and in the excitement of the game I went all out with the decor. That includes this awesome diy football pennant banner. It was so easy to make and, in my opinion, much cuter than the stuff they had at the store!

Plus if you have most of the supplies lying around it costs next to nothing to make!

I enjoyed working with this cute sparkly corrugated paper from Jo-Ann’s and thought it gave a slightly feminine touch to this masculine party.

Easy DIY Dinosaur Valentine Printables for Kids

These easy DIY dinosaur valentine printables are the perfect non-edible valentine to pass out in the classroom this Valentine’s Day! They also make great dinosaur party favors.

Ever since my son was little, maybe 15 months or so, he’s been obsessed with dinosaurs. And that all started when he watched his first episode of Dinosaur Train on PBS. So it was no surprise when I asked him what he wanted to pass out on Valentine’s Day and he said dinos.

So I headed to the dollar store (his favorite place to pick up dinos other than Target) and grabbed 10 dinos. Then I whipped up a dinosaur valentine printable using picmonkey. Want to make your own printable? Follow my instructions here!

After that, assembling the valentines was simple and took all of 10 minutes from start to finish. And now I don’t have to worry about either kid for Valentine’s Day (since I finished my daughter’s last week).

What you do:

1. Place dinosaurs in the plastic bags. If your child is worried about the dinos suffocating, don’t completely zip the tops.

Bubble Gum Valentine Printable – Perfect for Preschoolers!

bubble gum valentine printable

Over the years we’ve gotten a bit creative with our valentines and this year is no different. I let the kids decide what they want to pass out (within reason) and then we start creating. So when my daughter said she wanted to pass out bubble gum, I knew this bubble gum valentine printable would come in handy.

Last year we made some cutie valentines and car valentines so this year I wanted to stick with the no-candy theme. My son will be making his dinosaur themed valentines this weekend so stay tuned for those!

Everything I used for these valentines were found at Target. The foam hearts were on an end cap in the party supplies section and the gum was in the snack aisle. And? These took like 10 minutes to put together!

Unique Gift Wrapping Ideas for Gift Cards

Unique Gift Wrapping Ideas for Gift Cards

What do you do when you draw your uncle’s name in the gift exchange and all he asks for is “anything Rams” or a Chipotle gift card? Well… you have a little fun with the presentation and think of unique gift wrapping ideas!

While I was walking up to the counter at Chipotle ready to order my gift card I noticed all of hte wrapped burritos in foil. So when I ordered my gift card I also asked for a to-go bag and a piece of foil. I had an idea and wanted to see if it’d work well for my gift.

And while the girls behind the counter rolled their eyes (due to the overwhelming long line behind me) I knew it’d be all worth it. And it was. Because a football team t-shirt and a gift card can be a lot of fun when you think outside the box. [Read more…]

DIY Burlap Christmas Wreath Tutorial

A few weeks ago I shared on instagram a little glimpse on how naptime is spent for me. I’m usually either baking up something tasty, creating crafts, working on projects around the house or catching up on work. My office is a disaster just about every day of the year but that’s ok. Because I can do what I love and am in my element!

When my best blogging friend, Mariah of Formula Mom, got to the end of her pregnancy I knew I wanted to do something special for her. So instead of actually making and sending her something, I made her a DIY Burlap Christmas Wreath Tutorial for her blog instead. [Read more…]

If you’re like me, the holidays means full-fledged baking frienzy. Whether I’m making something for a party or gifting a platter of delicious cookies to a friend, I love to bake as much as possible and share delectable goodies with those closest to me.

Most of the time when I share an edible gift I’m usually asked for the recipe. So I decided this year I’d get ahead of myself and create recipe cards for the homemade gifts I make. And, of course, I’m using my favorite editing site to do it – PicMonkey!

By using their new Design feature I’ve figured out how to make a recipe card so that I can easily share the recipes I love. Want to know how? Read ahead!

How to Make A Recipe Card Using PicMonkey

1. Head on over to PicMonkey and click on Designhow to make a recipe card PicMonkey Design2. Now choose the size you want your recipe card to be. I chose a 5×7 layout (or 2100 x 1500 pixels)

how to make a recipe card canvas color4. If you want your recipe card to be Landscape, under Basic Edits click on Rotate and rotate your canvas.

how to make a recipe card rotate to landscape5. Add your recipe photo (if you have one) by going to Overlays (butterfly icon) and clicking on Your Own. Then choose the photo you wish to choose on your computer or other image source. Position it to the location and size you want it to be on the card.

If you’re a Royale Member of PicMonkey check out the awesome new Santa Script options. They’re some of my new favorites and what I’ve used on my card! Feel free to use the same color by grabbing and copying the color number (6 digits) and pasting it into the color box of your new text box.

7. Now add some flourish and design to your card. To create a divider in between your ingredients and directions, use a Geometric overlay by re-sizing a rectangle.

8. Add a border to one side or both by adding more Overlays. You can also add a frame around the recipe card under Overlays. I really like the look of the drop down option for these cards.

9. Now it’s time to Save the recipe card to your computer so you can upload and print from your favorite photo site or print from home.
