Grilled Steak Sandwich with Garlic Aioli Recipe

Grilled Steak Sandwich with Garlic Aioli Recipe - a simple and easy meal perfect for tailgating!

It still very much feel like summer here. And that means I do not feel like cooking. So this weekend as we watched a little football we grilled up some steak sandwiches to munch on.  Since I didn’t want just a plain steak sandwich I decided to make a delicious roasted garlic aioli to give the sandwich more flavor.

While the barbecue was heating up to 400 degrees I put some garlic heads in some foil (bottom sliced off) with a good amount of olive oil. I sealed the foil and added it to the barbecue.

The garlic roasted while the steaks cooked and continued cooking while the steaks rested and took about 20 minutes to cook. Everything else went quickly after the garlic was ready. And everything was done on the grill! Well… except the salad. But you can always grill your salad next time.

Cranberry Mustard Sauce Paired With Crispy Chicken Strips

We’re enjoying some delicious crispy chicken strips, provided by our sponsor Tyson®, with our cranberry mustard sauce recipe.

Cranberry Mustard Sauce - perfect for dipping!

My son. He’s addicted to chicken strips. Has been since he was younger. It’s the one thing he asks for in restaurants, something I always know he’ll eat when we are hosting an event, and is something I make for him when we eat lunch together on the weekends. But sometimes plain crispy chicken strips – while great for him – are just boring for me.

So I wanted to try something new to spruce them up. And in the spirit of the holidays, I decided to mix a classic Thanksgiving flavor with dijon mustard to create a cranberry mustard dipping sauce. Not only is it flavorful and pairs perfectly with chicken strips, it’s also a great spread for sandwiches and burgers as well!

Cranberry Mustard Sauce - a great dip, spread, or sauce

We whipped this up before we headed off to watch a screening of The Peanuts Movie. We’d already primed them by watching some classic Peanuts movies we had in the house but to be honest I think we were more excited to see the movie than they were. I’ve been waiting for this release for a while!

Tyson® crispy chicken strips are so awesome for a quick pre-movie meal. They’re easy to make and take no time to bake in the oven. And paired with the cranberry mustard sauce, we made the kids lunch something even the adults could enjoy. It was the perfect lunch for the whole family and the kids loved chatting about what we were going to see before heading off to the theater.

Creamy Tomatillo Avocado Sauce

I created this delicious #SauceSquad creamy tomatillo avocado sauce as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars by Crowdtap #BottledAwesome

creamy tomatillo avocado sauce with chips #SauceSquad #BottledAwesome
I love Mexican food. Like LURVE it! So when I was asked to create a delicious dish inspired by the new Taco Bell sauces my mind started to go into a thousand different directions before I found the inspiration to create this creamy tomatillo avocado sauce.

What I love about this sauce is that it pairs perfectly with my tequila lime pork tacos. The tomatillos and green chilies in Taco Bell’s salsa verde match the flavor combo found in my tequila lime marinade. And how can this pork not taste amazing coated with this creamy sauce and nestled into a tortilla of love.

And if you have any left overs or want to serve it to a crowd, feel free to serve this sauce as a dip. Because its great as both a sauce drizzled over your meal or as a dip on it’s own. I’m even considering using it as a salad dressing this week with a nice squeeze of lime on top.  [Read more…]

Holiday Appetizers: SeaPak Spring Rolls with Spicy Peanut Sauce

I made this delicious spicy peanut sauce as part of a compensated social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and SeaPak. All opinions are my own.

SeaPak Spring Rolls with Spicy Peanut Sauce #PakTheParty #shopIt is officially December and I’m in holiday planning mode. That means seeking out the best holiday appetizers and desserts for our annual get-togethers and events. This weekend will kick off the celebrations with my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Not only are we feeding a large crowd, we’re also entertaining them as well.

When I decided on the party food I wanted to serve at her birthday party, I went with simple, delicious, and crowd-pleasing. Luckily these spring rolls are just that. By making a spicy peanut sauce to pair with the chili sauce included in the packaging, I can make a store bought appetizer more homemade. And everyone loves options, right? Since I can prepare the dip ahead of time I can spend more time with my guests. [Read more…]

Baby Back Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ribs with Homemade Barbecue Sauce

There’s one meal that I wish I could cook better. And that’s baby back ribs with bbq sauce. I absolutely love ribs. Love the taste, the mess, and the pile of bones left over at the end. I know, I know… I’m weird. But a good plate of ribs just hits the spot.

And they’re the perfect dish to make for tailgating! So when I was planning my menu for my tailgating party I knew we had to serve ribs. Not only can they be made at home, but they can also be made on the grill and in the crock pot. So many different ways to make one delicious dish!

These ribs are even tastier because of the homemade barbecue sauce I made to go with them. And I have two surprises… my secret ingredient! Total Iron Chef moment here.

We headed out to Smart & Final for our ingredients and I knew I wanted to pick up some flavored preserves. As soon as I saw the First Street apricot pineapple preserves I knew I needed them for my sauce. And it was the best choice I made! While you can use peach, apricot, or even raspberry preserves in this recipe, the combination of the apricot and pineapple gave this sauce an amazing flavor.
